Goodbye, Aberdeen! Hello, Seattle!

I have just hit 'publish', so this post is the first entry on my blog, pretty scary.  Hopefully blogging will become less scary the more posts I publish.

Yesterday I touched down in the 'Emerald Cty' after a 9 hour flight from London.  Thankfully I sailed through US border control without any problems.  Once outside the airport the weather felt postively warm at 21 degress centigrade, warm compared to Aberdeen that is.  I am not going to lie to you, my bags were quite heavy.  So instead of taking three buses across Seattle I opted for the Downtown Airporter, a shared minibus, to take me to my base for the next 8 weeks.  I am staying with a lady who works at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminstration which will be very useful for meeting people during my fellowship.

So this is just a quick post to let you know that my Winston Churchill fellowship has begun.  I will keep you updated on my travels in Seattle and Vancouver.  I look forward to receiving your messages and comments, so don't be shy.
